Sensei David Farrance
Black Belt 2nd Dan

David began his karate training in 1986 at Keele University and has been training with Sensei Ronnie Christopher since 1992.

David has competed many times more in Kumite than karate, in student competitions, KUGB National and Central Region competitions and he still intends to continue at competition level at least in the Central Region competitions.

David's Motivation for Karate
David's main reasons for practising karate are self defense and overall fitness. After 18 years he still believes that Shotokan Karate provides an excellent system of self defense because it provides very simple and effective strikes, a limited number of locks, holds and sweeps and also it helps to develop a strong fighting spirit. To be successful, however, requires the self-discipline to train regularly so that the basic techniques can be performed at any distance as a reflex to any situation.
