How Do I Join Ruach
Karate Clubs?
If you are beginner, the
best way forward
is to try our Special Trial Karate Lessons

"You have buy
a trial lesson in a Aeroplane
so why not do the same for your Karate?"
Only £20 for 4 weeks training
Whether you are an adult or a parent wanting your children to try karate, our special "taster" course has been devised to give you, as a beginner, a snapshot of what karate training is all about without making the commitment of paying membership and annual licence fees.
Your son or daughter may express a wish to do Karate, but we all know how fickle children can be don't we? Therefore the taster course is the perfect way to get started. If your children still enjoy training after 4 lessons they can join the club and carry on with their karate, but if it is not what they expected then the maximum it will have cost you is just £20.
After completing 4 lessons your child and yourself would have gained enough knowledge to make an informed decision as to whether or not, Karate will be the right for them. The same holds true for an adult wishing to try Karate, after 4 lessons they would have a good feel for what goes on within a normal lesson, so again would be in a position to make an informed decision.
We as a group of instructors want all of our people to be training at our clubs because they are getting positive results and are enthused, not because they are tied in financially; that's another positive reason for this ground-breaking taster course .
The taster course runs continually all year round, so if you start your course and find that you have to miss a few classes, for whatever reason, you will be able to come back when it is convenient for you and just slot straight back in.
We pride our selves on our friendly and welcoming style of instruction, so don't be shy, come along and have an informal chat with any one of our highly trained Black Belt instructors.
How Do
I Get Started?
OK, once you have made the decision to take
advantage of this very special offer all you have to do is turn up at one
of the classes and speak with the instructor; It's probably best to arrive
about 10 -15 before the class starts so that you can have a chat and feel
at ease. You can obtain the training times and venues for each of our clubs
from the Ruach
Karate Club Locations page.
What Should I Wear?
![]() |
When you arrive you will see everyone wearing a white karate suit, which is called a Gi, pronounced "gee". Don't worry, you don't have to buy one of these to get started, in fact, if you decide to join our club, we provide you with a Gi free of charge!
However, for your first few lessons all you need to wear is loose fitting clothing that will allow your arms and legs free movement. Tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt are ideal providing that they do not have any zips or anything jagged which might injure yourself or someone else while training.
Please leave all of your jewellery at home, this includes rings, earrings and necklaces because they may also inadvertently cause harm to you or someone else. And finally, everyone trains in bare feet so you don't need to worry about any special shoes or anything like that. Just make sure that you are comfortable, and that's it!
See you there!
